Today, we give the floor to Maëva Briolais, a full-stack developer on a work-study program at Hubup. Discover her journey!
Maëva, could you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Maëva Briolais, I’m 25 years old, and I’m originally from Bordeaux. I joined Hubup as a web developer on a work-study program.
What is your background?
I worked for four years in the passenger transport sector as an operations coordinator in the Lyon area.
How did you discover Hubup?
I got to know Hubup through Nicolas, who is now a Product Owner. He contacted me to provide support for the Olympic/Paralympic Games project in an operational role. I had the opportunity to continue my work-study program in web development with Hubup following that wonderful summer.
What do you do on a daily basis at Hubup?
As a web development intern, I work daily on bug fixes and improvements to features present in our applications. For example, during my first week at the company, I worked on setting up a FAQ section for Inlink.
Currently, with the team, we are working on the new version of Flexnav. We each have small tasks to complete, and mine is to work on the driver portal section.
Rather back-end or front-end?
Definitely front-end! The visual aspect helps me better understand what’s going on. But I’m also very curious to learn back-end!
What is your greatest pride at Hubup?
My greatest pride at Hubup is my participation as operational support for the Olympic and Paralympic Games! I was able to assist drivers using our Geolite tool to make their driving in Paris easier during the entire event. Working night shifts, there were many changes to the schedule, so I had to ensure that the next day’s schedule in our tool was up to date, allowing my daytime colleagues to manage emergencies more calmly.
What is your hidden talent/passion?
I find travel very enriching; it allows me to meet people from various backgrounds, learn about new cultures and languages, recharge my batteries, and it’s always full of surprises and opportunities!
I volunteer occasionally on weekends at events, like Run for Girls, for example! I also went to Indonesia to do four weeks of volunteering at a school to teach English basics to 4-5-year-old children. I really enjoy volunteering because I think it’s important to support organizations, and it leads to beautiful encounters during those moments.
